Hello my stamping friends, and Happy New Year. I wish you all the very best in the upcoming 2026. I started this year in my craft room, which felt like the perfect way to begin. I needed a little creative jump‑start after a very busy holiday season with family in town, and I truly missed stamping these last few weeks.
I decided to play with the December 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit. I always love working with Paper Pumpkin because it gives me a great starting point and still leaves plenty of room to be creative. I made a few fun alternatives using only the contents of the kit and xtra card stock
For the first card, I followed the instructions almost as intended, but added an extra layer of Basic White and Secret Sea card base. I also cut the DSP from one of the card bases into three strips for added interest. It gave the card a cleaner, more dimensional look. Each DSP piece is 1 5/8 by 3 7/8.
The next card used a 3 7/8 inch square cut the same way, mounted onto Basic White. I stamped the sentiment in the opening and added leaves and flowers around it. I use this layout often because it gives the sentiment a really nice pop.
More alternatives are coming, but I hope these first ideas inspire you to open your kit and start creating. It feels so good to be back in the craft room.
